The world of sports is more competitive than ever. There are more leagues, more teams, and more athletes participating than ever before. It leads us to one conclusion, it takes more than simply practice to make a team and there are lots of athletes vying for the same position. The expectation is to win and to do it almost flawlessly. At Four Pillar Fitness we understand the sports world and help athletes maximize their performance.

We take good athletes and make them elite. No gimmicks, outrageous promises, just hard work and sound principles of training. We see huge increases in strength, power, speed, and vertical leap. We train athletes according to their sport giving them the opportunity to create perfect muscle memory away from their sport. We believe it takes 1000 perfect repetitions to create perfect muscle memory. What most athletes don’t realize is that they may only get 20 to 30 perfect reps in practice depending on their skill set and sport. Coaches are trying to get their athletes ready to compete as a team and don’t have the time to focus in on the skill movements. We take the skill movement, break it down, create strength and power through training exercises and guide the athlete through game speed movements without a ball. Wouldn’t it be great to shoot a hundred jump shots while increasing your vertical leap or take a hundred volleyball approaches, perfecting your footwork?

Nutrition, cardiovascular exercise, and flexibility are also key elements going along with strength training and skill movements. We help athletes understand nutrition principles and encourage them to eat a well balanced diet. Without cardiovascular training athletes would never end a game or match strong. We want their last movement to feel just as strong as their first. The reason we build muscle is it makes creating muscle memory more efficient. Also, it’s easier to sustain running faster and jumping higher. The more muscle that is created the shorter the muscle fibers. It is essential to stretch in order to avoid muscle tears.
